Colombia: CRC Issues Circular No. 162 of 2025, Expanding Scope for Telecommunications Equipment and Updating Technical Standards

On June 18, 2025, the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) of Colombia published Circular No. 162 of 2025. The Circular expands the regulatory scope beyond mobile phones to include fixed and satellite terminals; aligns requirements with newly allocated frequency bands, including 2500 MHz and 3500 MHz; revises the technical standards table; and mandates that equipment demonstrate compliance with electromagnetic exposure (SAR) limits and network compatibility in accordance with international standards such as 3GPP.
