The Government of Vietnam published Report No. 219/BC-BNV on January 11, 2025, outlining plans to enhance the efficiency of government organization through restructuring. The report highlights the following key points:
- The new ministry formed by merging the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) with the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) will be named the Ministry of Science and Technology.
- The announcement specifies that only the press management responsibilities of the former MIC will be transferred to the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST).
