TÜV SÜD in India receives NABCB accreditation for Validation and Verification Scheme in accordance with ISO/IEC 14065:2013.
The Paris Agreement, aims at undertaking ambitious efforts to combat climate change and adapt to its effects. Bases the agreement, signatory countries pledged to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and achieve a climate neutral world by the mid-century.
Measuring greenhouse gas emissions is the first step in combating them. At least 40 nations require facilities and businesses to regularly measure and report their emissions through GHG validation and verification.
In addition to helping the environment, reducing your company's carbon footprint can have a positive financial impact and enhance its reputation. GHG verification demonstrates to external stakeholders the validity, integrity, and reality of your footprint and GHG reductions. Your stakeholders will have more faith in the data if you present verified GHG emission reductions.
ORGANIZATIONAL VERIFICATION
ISO 14064-1 specifies principles and requirements at the organization level for quantifying and reporting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals. It includes provisions for the design, development, management, reporting, and verification of an organization's GHG inventory.
PROJECT VALIDATION AND VERIFICATION
ISO 14064-2 specifies principles and requirements and provides guidance at the project level for quantification, monitoring, and reporting activities intended to cause greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reductions or removal enhancements. It includes requirements for planning a GHG project, identifying and selecting GHG sources, sinks and reservoirs relevant to the project and baseline scenario, monitoring, quantifying, documenting and reporting GHG project performance and managing data quality.

Measuring and evaluating your organisation’s carbon footprint is a key step on the path to a sustainable business practice. Effective carbon management reveals how your organisation can reduce emissions. It also verifies your effective results. This means that your company profits through improved efficiency and greater public approval of your Corporate Social Responsibility agenda.
Carbon footprint measures and evaluates the total greenhouse gas emissions caused by, or expected from, your operations. Beyond identifying the main sources of emissions, it triggers innovations to reduce the consumption of energy and raw materials.
Carbon footprints take two forms. They can be viewed as a company-wide Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) based on 14064-1. Alternatively, a Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) based on PAS 2050 covers the entire lifecycle of a specific product or service, including the supply chain, use and disposal.
At TÜV SÜD, we provide a better understanding of GHG emission impacts across your business value chain, organisational level or product life cycle by conducting independent validation, and verification of your organisational and project level GHG assertions.
TÜV SÜD’s Carbon Neutral Certification, according to PAS 2060, is based on verification of the GHG inventory and an ambitious management plan for future prevention and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
Power Generation and Electric Power Transactions (Fossil fuel, Renewable/ Non-renewable), Energy Industries, Energy Demand, Oil and Gas, General Manufacturing, Transportation, Chemical Production, Metal/Aluminum production, Pulp, Paper and Printing, Waste handling and disposal, Forestry and Other Land Use.
Over the years, TÜV SÜD has been conducting independent validation and verification of organisational and project-level GHG assertions for many sectors under United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Verra and Gold Standard. In the recent past, TÜV SÜD South Asia has received the accreditation of the Indian National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) for GHG validation and verification scheme in accordance with ISO/IEC 14065:2013. With the NABCB accreditation and the GCC approval in place, TÜV SÜD South Asia is well equipped to ascertain carbon reduction commitments of GHG reduction projects.
GHG verification is a third-party examination of the GHG emissions from a facility or business. These audits are used by a program or regulatory body to approve a reporter's emissions and include GHG verification certification in the process. While some GHG validation organisations place a stronger emphasis on technology, others manage data and systems. The ideal strategy is an effective blend of the two.
With the aid of a GHG audit service, risk management or carbon neutrality strategy can be created and implemented. Following the completion of a GHG audit, the audit report produced by a team of experts will list the GHG emission characteristics of the various divisions, goods, and services of your company, assess potential expenses and legal risks, and list opportunities for cost and emissions reduction.
GHG verification is the independent assessment of a facility's or company's GHG emissions. A programme or regulatory agency uses these GHG audits to approve the emissions of a reporter.
The requirement to measure a company's greenhouse gas emissions and to demonstrate verifiable reductions is becoming more and more crucial, whether mandated by regulatory drivers or stakeholder influences. More than half of the Fortune 500 companies set targets to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
GHG validation and reporting are required because it builds a data pool that policymakers can use to guide their choices and monitor their success. Countries use this information to establish appropriate emissions targets, identify the industries, procedures, or practices that produce the most significant emissions, and support emissions-trading programs.
