What is Testing and Commissioning?

Testing and Commissioning (T&C) is a diligent process of planning and performing all necessary quality controls that encompass the complex infrastructures of data centres with their multiple and complex interfaces and interdependencies.

What do Testing and Commissioning Services Involve?

At TÜV SÜD, we perform T&C as a Commissioning Agent (CxA), usually a Third Party besides tenant and landlord or EPC and landlord. Our T&C activities cover all project phases from design and construction until “Ready for Service”. Our approach is proven in practice and has been developed according our clients’ needs and requirements. At TÜV SÜD, Testing and Commissioning (T&C) is conducted using a 5-level approach.

Our work starts with a T&C plan, a cross check of all relevant contractual agreements and specifications and a first Design Review (“Level 0”). During the process we provide an intensive monitoring and our own punch-list. Our comprehensive and tight reporting approach gives you a transparent overview of the present status of your project. During the first stage of the Testing and Commissioning process, weekly calls and monthly reporting are obligatory, with additional bi-weekly reports added towards the final stages of the project. Our activities end with the commissioning compliance letter which confirms successful completion of the commissioning process. 

Our unbiased approach as an external and experienced CxA provides added value in terms of quality. We are familiar with challenging T&C projects which require diligent project management, planning of resources, and having competent and resilient people on-site discussing on a high expert-level. As an independent Third Party, we can support all parties involved in case of discussions about the best solution and procedure.
