TÜV SÜD PSB, the international testing, inspection, certification, and training company with German roots, has successfully extended their Cybersecurity Testing and Certification scopes to include ETSI EN 303 645 under the IECEE CB scheme on 19th March 2024.
TÜV SÜD PSB is one of the first National Certification Bodies (NCBs) and CB Testing Laboratories (CBTLs) to be granted the IECEE CB Recognition for ETSI EN 303 645 — Cybersecurity for Consumer Internet of Things (IoT): Baseline Requirements. TÜV SÜD is now recognised by IECEE CB to conduct testing for consumer-connected products against ETSI EN 303 645, to issue CB-type test reports and CB certificates for compliance with this standard.
ETSI EN 303 645 is an internationally recognised standard that establishes critical cybersecurity requirements for Consumer IoT (CIoT) devices and serves as a foundation for IoT certification schemes in different regions. The IECEE CB scheme acts as a global framework for mutual acceptance of test reports and certificates regarding the safety of electrical and electronic components, equipment, and products. It also promotes the harmonisation of national standards with International Standards and cooperation among accepted NCBs worldwide.
With the expertise in testing and verifying products according to ETSI EN 303 645, TÜV SÜD has expanded its certification portfolio offerings for CIoT products to their customers. TÜV SÜD is now positioned to create even higher value for consumer-connected product manufacturers and consumers. Through the ETSI EN 303 645 services, products fulfilling the requirements will acquire the CB certificate, providing assurance that the products have met the security criteria to safeguard consumers' data and privacy.
Mr. Richard Hong, CEO, TÜV SÜD ASEAN, said, "With the rise in demand for connected devices, our enhanced capabilities will empower manufacturers to navigate complex regulatory requirements and deliver innovative products for consumers worldwide. This expansion marks a significant milestone in our commitment to ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the evolving cybersecurity landscape. We look forward to driving advancements in CIoT testing and certification to foster a safer and more reliable connected future."
TÜV SÜD is positioned to test and certify CIoT products, mitigating cyber risks and raising overall cybersecurity hygiene levels in smart devices to provide assurance for consumers.
