TÜV SÜD zacta gains accreditation for emv®pcd contactless l1 interoperability

TÜV SÜD Zacta, a member of one of the world’s leading technical service organisations, has been accredited by EMVCo for PCD Contactless L1 Interoperability. This adds a new service to the international service provider’s already extensive portfolio of products regarding payment Systems.

TÜV SÜD now offers debug services for EMV PCD Contactless L1 Interoperability in addition to the already existing certification for PCD L1 Analog and Digital. This will be complemented by Type Approval, once it becomes activated worldwide by EMVCo. Interoperability testing will consist of contactless transactions with a selection of EMV-approved PICC products, in order to assess the quality of the terminal communication channel, and detect possible issues that were not apparent during analogue or digital testing. Terminal vendors have now an opportunity to ensure their compliance, following a similar process that Mobile Vendors are used to since 2016 with EMVCo.

To ensure accuracy, efficiency and speed, TÜV SÜD has designed and developed a fully automated interoperability test bench, which is operational for both mobile and terminal testing. This streamlined solution delivers confirmation that products will operate as intended once they are deployed in the market.

TÜV SÜD Asia’s first EMVCo accreditation laboratory, is renowned for its technical competence boasting 20 years of experience as a testing laboratory in the payment systems market. Working closely with major manufacturers from Japanese industry, TÜV SÜD will now be able to provide even stronger support for this market.
