WHAT IS SS 564 Green Data Centres?

564 : Part 1 : 2013 is a certifiable standard for green data centres. It is a standard developed specifically for Singapore by IT Standards Committee (ITSC) together with Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and SPRING Singapore, the Singapore Standard for Green Data Centres – Energy and Environmental Management Systems.

While data centres support development of various industries across sectors, they are also one of the highest contributors towards carbon emissions. Due to their complex IT equipment and cooling & electrical system requirements, data centres consume a lot of energy for power generation which not only inflates the utility bills but also leads to increase in the carbon emissions.
