TÜV SÜD and AKKA intensify their collaboration in vehicle testing and simulation

Engineering consulting company AKKA and technical services organisation TÜV SÜD Auto Service GmbH are intensifying their collaboration, focusing on the fields of engine development for vehicles of up to 3.5 tonnes and on the design and development of vehicle components and their approval according to international market standards. The companies’ collaboration includes measuring the fuel consumption and emissions of vehicle fleets with the help of standardised test cycles (NEDC, WLTP) on test rigs and during real driving conditions at test tracks.

The objective of the collaboration is to integrate the services and competencies of the two companies and thus optimise their offers for vehicle and component manufacturers. This benefits customers in the field of design and development and in homologation, by creating the foundation for smooth handling plus optimised management and control of complete projects throughout the process chain.

For time-sensitive projects in particular, the combined know-how of AKKA and TÜV SÜD will provide domestic and foreign manufacturers with an even more attractive range of services. AKKA will focus on applying its expertise in the field of vehicle component development, while TÜV SÜD will bring its country-specific know-how in the field of homologation to the table. 

The collaboration may be expanded in future to include driver assistance systems and autonomous driving.
