klaus langnerMr. Klaus Langner, Director Pension Real Estate Singapore and ASEAN, South Asia, Middle East and Africa Chief Financial Officer, TÜV SÜD

"While there are some clear benefits such as clash detection and better coordination among contractors, I was still skeptical initially about the value of implementing a digital twin in TÜV SÜD @ IBP. However, I have come to realise that the real benefits of digital twin come in when you make full use of the value-added services across the Real Estate asset lifecycle, especially as an owner/operator. It starts with the testing, inspection and certification services during construction such as digital monitoring of the construction progress and smart inspection of the façade using drone, continues with predictive maintenance using sensors (e.g. for lifts) and can go as far as integrating BIM into CAFM during operation."

Mr. Kevin Kwan, Project Manager, Nakano

"By using BIM, we could plan and visualize the entire project during the pre-construction stage. We have been able to reduce cost and mitigate risks. BIM allowed us to better coordinate trades and subcontractors. Furthermore we've been able to detect clashes in mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) before construction began, thereby reducing significantly the amount of rework."

Mr. Mohd Khairomi, Senior Electrical Engineer, JTC

"The insights provided by TÜV SÜD’s Smart Lift maintenance solution (Anomalies detection and predictive maintenance) helped JTC to streamline and focus our lift operations resulting in better lift management and reliability. The feature to recommend rectification actions and solutions has certainly provide value add towards targeted response by lift companies and helped JTC and lift companies to improve our lift availability and increase the lift uptime."

Thomas JakobMr.Thomas Jakob, Regional President APAC, Bosch.IO

“For Bosch, co-developing the Lift Manager solution together with TÜV SÜD allowed to create a truly comprehensive offering the market was looking for. Leveraging TÜV SÜD’s profound knowledge in the lift domain and Bosch‘s expertise in the Internet of Things, we can now take the edge off the work of facility managers with a brand-agnostic end-to-end solution for remote monitoring and predictive maintenance of lifts. The Lift Manager is now in operation at both Bosch and TÜV SÜD ASEAN headquarters, providing safety and comfort to lift users and demonstrating our companies‘ commitment to delivering practice-proven solutions to customers.“

Mr BirnthalerMr. Joachim Birnthaler, Chief Executive Officer, Division Real Estate and Infrastructure, TÜV SÜD

"Digitalisation has a tangible impact on buildings – new technologies and tools such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), Building Automation Systems (BAS), Smart Lifts and Computer Aided Facility Management offer an array of advantages. In connecting these technologies, the benefits multiply and will transcend the role of buildings as a fixed asset evolving into a strategic asset: smart buildings will not only be easier to manage and more efficient in terms of energy consumption, they will also provide information and data for improved business processes generating new revenue streams.

When we decided to build TÜV SÜD’s new Asia-Pacific headquarters in Singapore the overall objective was to create a highly sustainable building that meets the long-term targets of efficiency, safety and usability. We approached the project thinking with the end in mind and have stuck to this approach throughout all phases of the project. And along the way, we have developed and implemented innovative tools that genuinely make the most of the advantages of a smart building."

mandatMs. Elise Katharina Mandat, BIM consultant, TÜV SÜD

"BIM Management for TÜV SÜD @ IBP has been essential in uniting the knowledge of Owners, Users, Contractors and Facility Managers in a common source to greatly reduce risk in design, construction and 80+ years of operation. Now that we have the means with which to build a Digital Twin and analyse it completely before occupancy, we also have the responsibility to secure this digital quality while we still have the chance. BIM Management is the key to ensuring this prophetic method delivers the results it promises."
