//Select CountryDr Royth von Hahn has taken over as the new Business Unit Manager Medical & Health Services (MHS) at TÜV SÜD Product Service. Operating from San Diego (USA), he will be responsible for a network of around 600 experts and a portfolio of lifecycle services for medical devices, from product design to risk management and approval. Dr von Hahn succeeds Dr Peter Havel, who transfers to TÜV SÜD Product Service GmbH in Munich as CEO.
Dr von Hahn joined TÜV SÜD in 2007 as a product specialist for ultrasound devices and ultrasound software and was lead auditor for quality management certification in the medical sector. During that time, he also established a testing laboratory for ultrasound equipment. In 2011 he transferred to TÜV SÜD AG's Innovation Management corporate function, which develops new business models and innovative technologies. During the last two years he managed MHS business in the USA and Canada. Dr von Hahn is an experienced veteran of the medical device industry; before joining TÜV SÜD, the physics and electrical engineering graduate had already worked in the industry as co-founder of a med-tech startup.
