The certification mark applies to Electric Consumer Products with voluntary product testing on sustainability performance on environmental protection.
The certification mark is awarded within the framework of voluntary testing and certification. It demonstrates that the product has been tested and certificated by the third party organisation, TÜV SÜD. The certification mark is only affixed to the products that have undergone inspection by TÜV SÜD Product Service and comply with the criteria quoted below.
A product carbon footprint is measured by the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through the product life cycle. Phenomenal growth in the provision of goods produced has contributed to the increase in greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and thus the increased human-produced warming effects on our planet, which is a significant cause of climate change. Product Carbon Footprint can contribute effectively towards the fight against climate change in a consistent and effective manner.
A product water footprint quantifies the potential direct and indirect impacts of water, as a result of all processing stages of its production. The issue of water and its management has become increasingly central to the global debate on sustainable development. This interest has been driven by growing water demand, increasing water scarcity and/or degradation of water quality. This drives the need for better understanding of water-related impacts as a basis for improved water management at local, regional, national and global levels.
These tests refer to the negative effects of harmful substances present in the products. The results of the tests (volatile solids, heavy metals, fluorine, SCCP, phthalates and PAH) shall be within the predefined limits based on the standard GB/T 26572-2011, Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 (REACH), Annex XVII, Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 (POP), 2006/66/EC (Battery) and California Proposition 65.
Battery accelerated endurance are based on IEC 61960-3:2017 clause 7.6.3. to determine the number of charge/discharge cycles which a cell or battery can endure before its useful capacity has been significantly depleted or the remaining capacity after a specified number of cycles.
