Testing is carried out on cable reels, power distributors for construction sites (ACS), lights for construction sites, hand-held electrical equipment, etc. and thus on electrical systems and equipment used for construction and assembly work.
Basis of certification:
The basis for the test mark is DGUV-I 203-006 (BGI/GUV-I 608 (Selection and operation of electrical systems and equipment on construction and assembly sites)). This information applies to the selection and operation (provision and use in accordance with § 1 of the BetrSichV) of electrical systems and equipment operated during construction and assembly work. It is intended to help minimise the risks of electrical accidents on construction sites and to simplify the risk assessment.
The DGUV-I 203-006 serves as a basis for certification (see test basis).
The statutory accident insurance information DGUV-I 203-006 serves as a basis for certification (see test basis).
On construction and assembly sites, electrical equipment is increasingly exposed to damaging influences and difficult conditions. These include, for example, mechanical stress and moisture.
For this reason, electrical equipment poses an increased risk that requires special protective measures. For this reason, there is, for example, protective insulated equipment with double or reinforced insulation, equipment with an integrated protective device and electrical systems that are suitable for operation in the ambient temperature range from -25 °C to +40 °C.
The voluntary certification mark with the statement “Safety tested” is issued for products, indicating that the product was tested and certified by the independent third-party organisation of TÜV SÜD Product Service for conformity with the essential technical safety requirements.
Periodic surveillance of the manufacture of a product constitutes the basic premise for certification which includes the award of a certification mark. Certification always requires product testing and regular factory inspections.
As a third-party expert organisation, TÜV SÜD verifies that the manufacturer is able to maintain consistent quality in line with the requirements throughout high-volume production and has established the necessary quality system, including incoming goods inspections, lists of materials and final product check.
In addition, calibration of the necessary measuring and monitoring equipment must be ensured. Surveillance and/or monitoring covers the testing of safety-critical components and other materials used. If unauthorised changes are made to the product, the certificate will be withdrawn and the TÜV SÜD certification mark may no longer be used.
