Additive manufacturing (AM), also known as 3D printing, is a sector that is growing fast, especially in the field of serial production where stakeholders have high expectations of the technology’s use. As this is still fairly new technology, there is a gap in skilled professionals in the industry.

This course provides a general description of technologies summarised under the term AM, their differentiation from the long-established manufacturing processes, and layer-by-layer structure characteristics. It also covers the different possibilities of the technology and its future uses
