SCOPE:

This certification mark is of Visual Ergonomics approved, Blue Light Ratio, Alternating Electric/Magnetic fields approved for LED backlit LCD display, LED display and those display on Information Technology device and Audio/Visual apparatus.

 

Basis of certification (Test requirements):

The certification mark is awarded within the framework of voluntary testing and certification. It demonstrates that the product has been tested and certified by the third-party organization TÜV SÜD. The certification mark is only affixed to products that undergo inspection by TÜV SÜD Product Service and comply with the criteria quoted below.

 

Key statements of the certification mark:

  • Visual Ergonomics approved

    Electrical visual display terminal incorporated display module such as screen. If image quality of products, are poor or adjustability of products are not possible, user may work in awkward postures which results physical discomfort like visual fatigue, neck, shoulder, or back pains, furthermore, working efficiency is significantly reduced.

    Comfort and efficiency can be improved by ensuring that products are complied with requirements of visual ergonomics (etc. ISO/IEC 9241-307 standard, GB/T 18978.307 standard) in consideration of user and product interaction includes image qualities, adjustability, environmental effects, etc.

  • Flicker Free

    Flicker free was the one test item of visual ergonomics requirements.

    According to the requirement of visual ergonomics standard (etc. ISO/IEC 9241-307), the entire image area shall be free of flicker for at least 90% of the user population. Flicker free assessment will help mitigate possible adverse biological effects of flicker for the end user when such mitigation is desired.

  • Image Formation Time ≤ 55ms & Image Formation Time ≤ 10ms

    Image formation time was the one test item of visual ergonomics requirements.

    Image formation time means the response time of the pixel in the screen, including the pixel ‘rising time (light up) and pixel’s falling time (shut down). Image formation time ≤ 55ms use for quasi-static images, contrast is stable for most applications, motion artefacts can be distracting. Image formation time ≤ 10ms use for moving images, if the image formation time or frame period duration is too long while the display produces the image during a large part of the frame period, then blurred or jerky images result, and contrast may be reduced.

  • Colour Fidelity

    Fidelity was the one requirement of visual ergonomics requirements.

    Colour fidelity means the colour gamut and reference white requirement of visual ergonomics requirements. Colour gamut, over all relevant viewing directions the chromaticity diagram area under ambient illumination shall exceed a minimum 5% of the total area of the CIE 1976 UCS chromaticity diagram, centred about the chromaticity of the reference white. Reference white shall be displayable on the visual display with a maximum deviation of the correlated colour temperature of ± 500K. Preferred correlated colour temperatures are e.g. 5000K, 5500K, 6500K, 7500K and/or 9300K.

  • Anti-reflective

    Unwanted reflections were the one test item of visual ergonomics requirements.

    The visual display shall be suitable for the intended environment and shall be able to against the glare which produce by illumination or sunshine.

  • Alternating Electric/Magnetic fields approved

    Means the low frequency emission of alternating electric fields and alternating magnetic fields which generated by visual display product have been assessment. The aim of this assessment is to reduce the electrical alternating fields and alternating magnetic fields to such a low level so as not to burden the work and home environment with unnecessary factors.

  • Blue light ratio

    Blue light ratio is a “relative concept” in evaluating blue light content of a product, since the blue light ratio of sunlight is around 25%, and blue light ratio of general white light LEDs is around 35%, the blue light ratio in the low blue light mode(s) of displays, or low blue light products, is expected to be lower than the blue light ratio of sunlight. And Blue Light Ratio ≤ 25% is the minimum requirement. The grating of Blue light ratio will base on the test result.

    The Blue light ratio (%) = Blue light irradiance (400-500nm) / Total irradiance (300-700nm) x 100%
