Recently, the requirements for OT security in terms of global compliance and security authentication have been steadily increasing. This is one of the reasons that Samjong KPMG and TÜV SÜD Korea signed a business agreement on February 1st, 2021, at Samjong KPMG headquarters in Yeoksam-dong to strengthen the Industrial Operation Technology (OT) security business and share expertise on security authentication systems.
The officials from both companies, including Dae-Gil Jeong, Head of Samjong KPMG Consulting Division, and Jung-Wook Seo, CEO of TÜV SÜD Korea, attended the agreement ceremony. Under this agreement, the two companies will conduct joint research on OT and ICS security, security authentication, and industrial safety authentication, and exchange expertise on global compliance. In addition, they will cooperate with each other to jointly promote new security authentication and consulting commercialization.
Samjong KPMG's cyber security service team is comprised of OT security experts with industry-specialized experiences to provide integrated security services that protect the values of customers and companies in the digitalization era. In recent years, when global compliance response and security authentication demands for OT security are increasing, Samjong KPMG's cyber security service team is providing OT security international standard IEC 62443 series authentication and NIST, NERC-CIP, ENISA, IPA standard based security consulting service to achieve security level throughout the process such as product design, production, operation, and maintenance, etc.
TÜV SÜD provides integrated solutions for industrial control and operating system security based on expertise in cyber security and industrial processes of industrial infrastructure. In particular, TÜV SÜD is one of the first provider of IEC 62443 authentication service, and based on its expertise in OT security paradigm and IEC 62443, recently, it has officially launched a total solution such as training, tests, and certification related to the IEC 62443 standard.

Through cooperation with Samjong KPMG, we expect to expand global compliance response and security authentication services in Korea.”
