TÜV SÜD offers data-centre certification according to the EN 50600 European standard. The standard’s integrated approach covers all aspects of data-centre facilities and infrastructures. EN 50600 supports international benchmarking and establishes a reliable basis of trust. TÜV SÜD will be present at London Tech Show to be held on 11 and 12 March 2020. (Stand C1316).
Data centres are an integral part of our modern information society. Digital transformation will continue the rise in demand for safe, secure and available data centres. At the same time, planners, installers and operators must ensure that their structural and technical infrastructure fulfils an increasingly complex roster of requirements. “Certification according to EN 50600 provides clarity and transparency regarding data-centre safety, security and availability. It thus provides operators and users with a basis of trust”, says Thomas Grüschow, Data Centre Specialist at TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH. The standard governs all aspects of physical facilities, taking infrastructure design and planning into consideration as well as operational management, and also offers many points of reference to other standards and management standards such as ISO 27001.
In spite of the rigorous requirements involved, the EN 50600 standard offers critical advantages to planners, decision-makers and operators. The complete infrastructure of a project can be captured in a single certificate, and specialised planning can align technical requirements to the needs of the specific location and specific business. The complete infrastructure of a project can be captured in a single certificate, creating a basis for specialised planning to align technical requirements to the needs of the specific location and specific business. This approach delivers systematic, targeted planning and cost-optimised project realisation. Thomas Grüschow comments, “Our customers are as thoroughly convinced by the standard's practice- and solution-focused approach as they are by the clearly understandable and traceable audits carried out within the scope of the certification process.”
TÜV SÜD has been offering data-centre certification according to EN 50600 since 2015. “With our extensive experience and the necessary background knowledge, we are familiar with the best methods of implementing the EN 50600 standard in conjunction with other requirements”, explains Thomas Grüschow. The expert is convinced that the standard will prevail in this very dynamic growth market. The same applies to the ISO/IEC TS 22237 international standard which has been submitted to the national bodies for voting and will be applied not only in Europe, but throughout the world.
TÜV SÜD will attend London Tech Show at a shared stand with Uniscon (C1316). Further information on certification according to EN 50600 and other TÜV SÜD services can be found at www.tuvsud.com.
