Our Digital Remote Witnessing - Off-Site type approval tests   

In the current pandemic situation we are offering representative homologation process without physical presence on site – the off-site type approval test that works with a digital survey. This special process is accepted by the German KBA (Kraftfahrtbundesamt), the Dutch RDW (Rijksdienst voor het Wegverkeer), the Irish NSAI (National Standards Authority of Ireland) and the Luxembourgish SNCH (Société Nationale de Certification et d‘Homologation). The service is valid for a limited time during the crisis, depending on the authorities.

By offering this remote service we support our customers to stick to their tight timelines for type approvals of new car models, so that you can launch your product in your markets in time. In times of the COVID-19 pandemic, travel restrictions and social distancing, this is a suitable approach. With the off-site approach we keep the type approval activities going at the known high quality to support your business, during these rough times.

The digital remote witnessing process - safe and secure:

The remote witnessing can be done with a regular device such as smartphone, tablet or PC/laptop and a communications platform like Skype for Business, MS Teams or similar.

Before testing: Coordination between TÜV SÜD and customer regarding test modalities

Responsible laboratory staff of customer: connected via e.g. Skype with webcam to TÜV SÜD employee (technical service)

Remote witnessing is done in real-time: Type approval tests are witnessed digitally via video, e.g. Crash tests. The expert is directly connected for the whole test period, to ensure the correct execution.

 The test results will be transferred via a secure cloud platform to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability.

Technical report will be prepared by TÜV SÜD after remote witnessing.

Please be aware that additional tests might be required by the authority after the Covid-19 pandemic special situation is over.
