VIETNAM: TYPE 2 PRODUCTS AND GOODS SUBJECT TO APPROVAL, DECISION AMENDMENT ON GROUP OF LIGHTING PRODUCTS WITH LED TECHNOLOGY

APRIL 2024 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS 

On 12 March 2024, the Ministry of Science and Technology in Vietnam implemented Decision No. 367/QD-BKHCN to amend No. 2711/QD-BKHCN, 2022 by supplementing the group of LED lighting products in the Annex.

The Decision amends the Annex to add a number of LED lighting products under the management of the Ministry of Science and Technology, relevant national technical regulations (QCVN), HS codes (refer to Circular 31/2022/TT-BTC), and management methods for imported goods.

The products include:

• LED bulbs with built-in ballasts for general lighting work at voltages over 50V;
• double-ended LED bulbs replacing straight tube fluorescent bulbs;
• portable LED electrical lights; and
• fixed common LED electrical lamps.

This Decision entered into force on 12 March 2024.
