Thailand: Mandatory Energy Efficiency Requirements for household refrigerators and refrigerator-freezers

On 2 March 2021, the Thai Ministry of Industry published a Ministerial Regulation under the authority of the Industrial Product Standards Act.

The Regulation indicated that certain household refrigerators and refrigerator-freezers including refrigerators or freezers with compressed air cooling system shall comply with Thai Industrial Standard TIS 2186 - 2561 (2018) which is the energy efficiency requirements. This regulation is approved according to Announcement No. 5711 of the Ministry of Industry dated 29 May 2020.

 The standard will become a mandatory application from 29 August 2021.
