Taiwan: Amendment to mandatory commodity inspection of self-ballasted LED lamps, Notice No. 10230021780, 2014 issued

FEBRUARY 2020 – RELEVANT FOR: ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS

Taiwan Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) issued Notice No. 10830007210, 2019 as an amendment of Notice No. 10230021780, 2014- Mandatory Commodity Inspection of Self-ballasted LED Lamps on 3 January 2020. The amendment mainly updates the inspection standards.
To reinforce consumer protection and energy efficiency, the BSMI further adopted the latest inspection standards CNS 14115 and CNS 15630 for self-ballasted LED lamps which have been executed inspection mandatorily under the Commodity Inspection Act since 2014. However, the process of conformity assessment is unchanged.

The amendment was into force since 3 January 2020.
