Vietnam: National Technical Regulation for 5G User Equipment - Radio Access, Circular No. 06/2021/TT-BTTTT QCVN 127/2021 was approved

This Circular provides the technical requirements for standalone 5G user equipment operating on all or one of the specified frequency bands listed in Table 1 to Table 3 and that comply with regulations on the management and use of radio frequencies in Vietnam. This technical regulation applies to Vietnamese and foreign legal entities and individuals that manufacture and trade equipment in Vietnam.

This national technical regulation is established based on ETSI TS 138 101-1 V16.4.0 (2020-07) and ETSI TS 38.521-1 v16.5.0p (2020- 12) for UEs operating on FR1; ETSI TS 138 101-2 V16.4.0 (2020-07) and ETSI TS 38.521- 2 v16.5.0p (2020-11) for UEs operating on FR2.

The covered products: 5G Land Mobile User Equipment (UE) intended to be used in Viet Nam (HS code: 8517.12.00). 5G Land Mobile User Equipment operates in specific frequency bands and can integrate any or a combination of the following functions: + E-UTRA land mobile terminal equipment + WCDMA FDD land mobile terminal equipment + GSM land mobile terminal equipment + Radio equipment operating in the 2.4 GHz band and using spread spectrum modulation techniques + Radio access equipment operating in the 5 GHz band + Short-range devices (transmitters, transceivers).

This technical regulation will be in force on 1 March 2022. 5G User Equipment imported or produced in Vietnam must meet the regulatory requirements by 1 July 2022.
