Thailand: Mandatory Energy Efficiency Requirements for Household Refrigerators and Refrigerator-Freezers In Force

On 2 March 2021, Ministerial Regulation of B.E. 2564, 2021 was published by the Thai Ministry of Industry, under the authority of the Industrial Product Standards Act.

The Regulation specifies the energy efficiency requirements of certain household refrigerators and refrigerator-freezers, such as refrigerators/freezers using a compressed air cooling system and alternating current. The requirements are clarified in the Thai Industrial Standard TIS 2186 - 2561 (2018) which is approved in accordance with the Announcement No. 5711 of the Ministry of Industry dated 29 May 2020.

The standard enters into force and becomes mandatory from 29 August 2021.
