South Korea: Change of detailed product classification for ice grinders, Amendment (Notice No. 2021-177) to Operation Bulletin of Electrical Appliances and Consumer Products Safety Control Act, KATS Notice 2007-1268

AUGUST 2021 - ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS

On 5 July 2021, the South Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) published an amendment to the Notice on Operation Bulletin of Electrical Appliances and Consumer Products Safety Control Act.

In the amendment, hand-operated mechanical ice grinders is removed from Annex 5 and 13 which are household appliances and specific standards list subject to safety confirmation and added to Annex 6 and 14 for household appliances subject to supplier conformity confirmation or assurance of conformity.

The Notice was in force on 5 July 2021. Annexes 5, 6, 13 and 14 on ice grinders will enter into force on 28 November 2021.
