KSA: SASO postponed the mandatory date for some products subjected to IECEE Recognition Certificate

On 10 March 2021, the Saudi Organization for Standardization, Metrology and Quality SASO had announced a list of products that will become mandatory to obtain the IECEE national recognition certificate from 1 July 2021. SASO published a recent update on their official website¹ changing the date to 1 November 2021 instead. This is the second time SASO has postponed this implementation date. The previous implementation date was 1 September 2021.

The products covered by this updated announcement are unchanged, and they are:

• Water boilers and kettles SASO-IEC-60335-2-15 
• Coffee makers of all kinds SASO-IEC-60335-2-15 and SASO-IEC-60335-2-14 
• Home Electric fryers SASO-IEC-60335-2-13 
• Electric pumps with 5 hp or less IEC 60335-2-41
• Video game consoles and controllers SASO-IEC-62368-1 
• Power cables - IEC-60227-(1-7), IEC-60245-(1-8), IEC-60502-(1-2), IEC-60702-1, IEC-60800, IEC-62821-(1-3) and IEC-62930
• Wireless headsets
• Chargers and other accessories.
