It defines an AI specific life cycle model for development and operation of AI based products and services, which covers both, AI technology and AI data.

Dr. Scharpfenecker works on the trustworthiness and ethics of artificial intelligence for TÜV SÜD Auto Service GmbH. In this role, Dr. Scharpfenecker identifies issues pertaining to the quality and safety of systems using artificial intelligence, including topics like development processes, methodology and inherent issues like robustness. In his academic and industry career, he has worked in the areas of complexity theory and algorithms, especially with a focus on artificial intelligence, sensorics and environmental perception. Together with TÜV SÜD Auto Service GmbH, he is working on bringing artificial intelligence and machine learning into automated vehicles by ensuring high quality data and models, resulting in safe systems.
