Jeff Habecker: Employee Spotlight

#FutureInYourHands

Jeff HabeckerJeff Habecker

Account Executive at TÜV SÜD America

#FutureInYourHands – This motto properly describes how TÜV SÜD empowers its employees. It’s best to hear from TÜV SÜD executives and staff members what their personal experiences are working for TÜV SÜD.

Can you describe your role within TÜV SÜD?
I am in the Medical Health Services (MHS) division as a Territory Manager/Business Development Representative. My focus is working with medical device manufacturers on their testing and certification needs so their products can safely go to market.

How did you choose this career path?
I have been in this industry for 11 years now. From the start, I wanted to be involved in working with medical device manufacturers and in the medical service field. This is a unique and niche-type service. I enjoy keeping up with all global regulations and making sure that medical devices meet those requirements and are safe to be put on the market.

What do you enjoy most about your role at TÜV SÜD?
I really enjoy working with all the different manufacturers and clients and learning about their new and innovative products which are constantly evolving. I find that the technology itself is fascinating. I also feel that we work very well as a team here at TÜV SÜD and work in our clients’ best interest.

Are there any challenges that you’ve faced during your career that have taught you important lessons?
I think there will always be challenges. Specifically, in this industry, to stay in tune with updated, new and changing global regulations is a challenge, but one that I enjoy.

What do you think this industry will look like 20 years from now?
From a product standpoint, I believe that technology will continue to grow and evolve at an exponential rate. Technology plays a prominent role in our lives and influences most everything we do. I think down the line, all products, applications, etc. will become more effective and even easier to use, aiding us even more. I think this industry will continue to consistently move forward in providing regulatory guidance, certifications, and safety assurance to manufacturers as these products evolve over time.

When not working, how do you enjoy your spare time?
I am a big fan of both sports (Go Colts!) and music. I, along with my wife attend 30-35 concerts a year (and we look forward to being able to do that again as soon as possible!).
