ISO 22301:2012 BUSINESS CONTINUITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AUDITOR / LEAD AUDITOR (CQI IRCA 17926) TRAINING

Learn how to prepare and respond to unexpected incidents through ISO 22301:2012

ABOUT THE COURSE

The aim of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second and third-party audits of business continuity management systems against ISO 22301, in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021-1, as applicable.

Capitalising on the powerful Accelerated Learning Technique, this course spends a good portion of the time on discussions, exercises and case studies to help students to consolidate knowledge and acquire hands on experience that are instrumental in their capacity as a BCMS auditor or as a business continuity function personnel.

Students who passed the continuous assessment and the two (2) hour closed book examination will be awarded a Certificate of Successful Completion. Based on CQI IRCA policy, this course satisfies the training requirement for certification as a CQI IRCA registered BCMS Lead Auditor/Auditor.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN FROM THE COURSE?

On completion, successful students will be able to:

Knowledge

  • Describe the purpose of a BCMS, BCMS standards, of management system audit and of third-party certification.
  • Explain the role of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow up a business continuity management system audit in accordance with ISO 19011 (and ISO 17021 where appropriate).

Skills

  • Plan, conduct, report and follow up an audit of a business continuity management system to establish conformity (or otherwise) with ISO 22301 and in accordance with ISO 19011

WHAT IS THE COURSE METHODOLOGY?

There is a balance between knowledge-based presentation, discussions, exercises and case studies. About two third of the time is spent on activity based learning. A mock examination paper will be discussed throughout the course to help students familiarize with the style of the questions.
Certificates will only be issued to participants with 100% full attendance.

This CQI IRCA Certified course is conducted under the license of, and certificates are issued in collaboration with ALC 06022954.

  • Staff who are charged with the responsibility to develop and maintain a BCMS;
  • All BCMS auditors who wish to acquire an internationally recognized auditor status;

Prerequisite:

CQI IRCA recommends that students are expected to have the following prior knowledge:

  • Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 22301
  • Knowledge of the following business continuity management principles and concepts:

o the purpose and benefits of a business impact analysis;
o the principals of risk assessment and analysis;
o typical business continuity strategies; business continuity response options;
o BCMS performance metrics, monitoring and performance measurement;
o exercise and testing methodologies.

  • The above knowledge may be gained by completing a CQI IRCA Certified BCMS Foundation Course or equivalent.
