Within the scope of a strategic partnership TÜV SÜD Food Safety Institute GmbH acquires shares in flowtify GmbH, a supplier of mobile hygiene & quality management.
TÜV SÜD is acquiring the shares in the Series A financing round of flowtify. “We expect the focus in our industry to shift from auditing pure and simple to remote monitoring, system monitoring and system management”, says Thorsten Steinhübel, CEO of TÜV SÜD Food Safety Institute GmbH. Based on the strategic partnership with flowtify, in future the TÜV SÜD subsidiary will be able to offer services with digital solutions that facilitate their clients' day-to-day quality assurance and offer them tangible value added.
With the help of an app and IoT products, flowtify supports end-to-end and traceable cloud-based quality and hygiene controls within the scope of Regulation (EU) No. 852/2004 (HACCP). The flowtify app supports the digital structuring and implementation of documentation. By providing videos, photos and PDF documents, it assists employees with their assignments, enabling them to carry out tasks still unfamiliar to them independently. Integration of IoT support is planned to further improve food safety in the future.
In addition to its existing app for digital quality and hygiene checks, flowtify is currently developing an audit app. “In recent months our customers have expressly requested a digital instrument for 2nd party audits. Catering to this request, we now plan to digitise the entire audit process and provide our customers with a digital tool which can be used for easy analysis, interpretation and documentation of data and processes”, adds Steinhübel. TÜV SÜD Food Safety Institute plans to use flowtify in German-language countries at first. However, in the medium term the flowtify application may also be used in other areas of the audit and inspection business of TÜV SÜD. TÜV SÜD has signed a cooperation agreement to this effect.
