CONSUMER BATTERY SAFETY TESTING

Battery safety, battery performance and battery durability are highly valued today as batteries become more common in everyday use. Batteries are being used in a growing range of consumer appliances such as mobile phones and computers. The safety and reliability of these batteries depends on its quality.  

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT?

It is projected that by 2020, the average number of electronic network-connected devices owned per person would be 6.5. Consumer electronic products has never been so proliferated. A faulty battery can endanger their users. This could tarnish consumers’ trust and brand image. On top of that, there could also be lawsuit filed against product manufactures for placing faculty products into the hands of their consumers.

  • Life cycle testing - Verify how long a battery lasts and demonstrate the quality of the product to customers. These tests include cycle life testing, environmental cycle testing and calendar life testing.
  • Performance testing- Demonstrate the efficiency of batteries. Our experts can customize testing programmes to suit specific customer requirements such as performance testing under various climatic conditions.
  • Abuse testing - Simulate extreme environmental conditions and scenarios to test your battery beyond its limits.
  • Environmental and durability testing - Demonstrate the quality and reliability of your battery. Our tests include vibration, shock, EMC, thermal cycling, corrosion, dust, salt and humidity tests.
  • Transport testing - Ensure your batteries can be transported safely. We conduct tests for the United Nations requirements (UN 38.3) for the safe transportation of lithium batteries.
