This new procedure applies to equipment and infrastructure for telecommunications and radio equipment that are connected to a telecommunications network. It has set up four certification schemes as below:

c) sample per family group of product models and surveillance, and

The above schemes provides flexibility in the certification of various products, including Internet of Things (IoT) devices and short-range radio communication devices scope.
The assessment procedure has 6 Annexes:
The assessment procedure clarifies definitions, approval types, approval procedures and labelling requirements. Certificates of Conformity issued by the Certification Bodies before the implementation date of this procedure is still effective. This means the Certificates of Conformity remains valid in the terms in which they were issued to the holder and cannot be extended.
The assessment procedure takes effect one year from its publish date and replaces the "Procedures for assessing the conformity of products subject to compliance with official Mexican standards under the Ministry of Communications and Transport through the Federal Telecommunications Commission", published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on 11th August 2005.
