This training unit provides participants to approach, understand and apply the lean transformation process systematically. It is designed to equip participants with the broad knowledge and tools to map the transformation for a system wide approach for developing and implementing lean six sigma project plans.

On completion of this competency unit, learners will have the skills and knowledge in applying strategies, methods and tools used for developing and implementing lean six sigma project plans.
Topics to be covered in this course include:
• Identify the principles of lean
• Understand the lean culture
• Analyse processes and determine potential areas of improvement using the Value Stream Mapping tool
• Improve process stability and efficiencies
• Understand the Just-in-Time methodology
• Review lean measurement tools
• Implement lean design, analyse failures and ensure ongoing quality and continuous Improvement
This unit is delivered through classroom training with written reflection, case studies and group discussions. This unit is one of the Specialisation Units leading to the award of WSQ Certified Productivity and Innovations Management certification.
The course will be conducted in English.
