RESS (Renewable Energy Sources System) mode will become a trend of the future
Thanks to policy orientation and financial subsidies of the governments around the world for many years, wind energy and solar energy distributed renewable energy generation has gained rapid development. However, with rising proportion of distributed renewable energy generation capacity in total capacity of the power grid, the natural instability of wind energy, PV or other renewable energy has caused increasingly evident impact onto the safety and stability of power grid. Therefore, the spontaneous and self-use mode that reduces the impact onto the power grid to the lowest level will become a trend of the future, and the RESS that is necessary for realization of spontaneity and self use will certainly be widely used.
In order to fill the gap of RESS specification in early stage, TÜV SÜD Group compiled and released internal standard PPP 59034A:2014 for household and small and medium-sized energy storage systems and internal standard PPP 59044A:2015 for large-scale energy storage system by resorting to its rich experience and technical accumulation in PV, wind energy and energy storage battery field. It has provided complete technical solutions for RESS manufacturers, as well as corresponding training, consultation, product test and certification service.
Requirements of grid-connection requirements
As for grid-connected RESS, to conduct test according to the manufacturer’s destination country or the grid-connection requirements of IEC.
As for off-grid RESS, it’s not required to consider the requirements of the grid-connection conformity, but it’s required to meet the requirements of IEC 62109-2 on output waveform.
