TÜV SÜD and Lazada Singapore enter strategic partnership to advocate the CSA Cyber Essentials and Trust marks to key partners

Singapore. TÜV SÜD PSB, the international testing, inspection, certification, and training company with German roots has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lazada Singapore to advocate the Cyber Security Agency (CSA) Cyber Essentials and Trust marks, as a standard framework for Lazada’s key partners, further strengthening their cybersecurity ecosystem.

The MoU was signed at the TÜV SÜD’s cybersecurity event, Cybersecurity in the Digital Ecosystem – 2nd Edition event on Tuesday, 25th July 2023 by Mr. Richard Hong, CEO, TÜV SÜD ASEAN and Mr. Loh Wee Lee, CEO, Lazada Singapore, witnessed by Mr. Dan Yock Hau, Assistant Chief Executive (National Cyber Resilience), CSA.

The partnership is in line with the strategic direction of Lazada to bolster the cybersecurity maturity of the e-commerce ecosystem. It builds on Lazada's achievement of the CSA Cyber Trust mark, under the Cyber Essentials and Trust mark certification scheme, part of the SG Cyber Safe programme. The Cyber Essentials mark recognises organisations that have put in place cyber hygiene measures, while the Cyber Trust mark is a mark of distinction to recognise organisations with comprehensive cybersecurity measures and practices.

As an independent certification body, TÜV SÜD will support Lazada in its efforts to raise awareness among its key partners about the importance of implementing cybersecurity practices to achieve the certification.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Richard Hong, CEO, TÜV SÜD ASEAN, said, “We are excited to enter into this strategic partnership with Lazada, a leading player in the e-commerce industry. This MoU marks a significant step towards safeguarding customer data in the evolving e-commerce landscape. As a global expert in cybersecurity, we are proud to be Lazada’s trusted partner, leveraging our expertise to support their partners in ensuring robust cybersecurity practices.”

Mr. Loh Wee Lee, CEO, Lazada Singapore said, “At Lazada, we understand the vital importance of continually enhancing our cybersecurity measures to ensure that our buyers and sellers can transact safely. With the partnership of TÜV SÜD through this MoU, we will continue to bolster the cybersecurity maturity of the e-commerce industry by advocating and championing the significance of the CSA Cyber Essentials and Trust mark. We look forward to introducing these marks to our key partners and supporting them in achieving this essential accreditation.”

The Cybersecurity in the Digital Ecosystem – 2nd Edition is the 2nd annual flagship event organised by TÜV SÜD where key IT decision makers, cybersecurity professionals, and representatives from government agencies, associations, and organisations across all industries gather, bringing together different perspectives to facilitate wide-ranging discussions on creating a safer cyberspace for businesses and individuals in a Digital Economy.
