ABOUT e-mobility TRAINING PROGRAM

Electric vehicle drives are gaining ground in both hybrid and pure electric vehicles. Voltage peaks of up to 1,000 volts can occur in these drives. Therefore, it is crucial that technicians working in workshops or for automotive manufacturers know how to handle high-voltage systems safely.

This e-mobility training program consists of 3 modules which you can register for as a bundle or separately.

The content is divided into three levels that cover non-electrical work, electrical work (disconnected) and live working:

  • Level 1: Sensitisation for Safe Work on Motor Vehicles with HV Systems (E-learning)

With our practical, web-based self-learning program employees will be aware of the dangers associated with HV systems in motor vehicles such as EVs and hybrid vehicles, and how to provide first aid in an emergency.

Topics to be covered in this course include:

    • Layout of a high voltage system
    • Dangers of electric current
    • Accident prevention measures
    • First aid measures for accidents in the electro-technology field
    • Technical safeguards

    Duration: 45 minutes e-learning
Relevant for: Users of EV / Hybrid vehicles, and all employees without electrotechnology training who might come into contact with automobiles with high voltage systems.

  • Level 2: Training as Qualified Electrician for HV Systems in Motor Vehicles (Funding support available)

Based on your professional knowledge as a vehicle electrician, mechatronician or mechanic, you can complete the course to become an electrician to work on vehicles with HV systems. You are then qualified to work independently and safely on vehicles with HV systems (e.g. electric cars, hybrid vehicles). In addition, you will be able to assess the work delegated to you, to reliably recognise possible dangers, and to put into practice all necessary protective measures.

Topics to be covered in this course include:

    • Organisation of safety and health for electrical
    • Engineering work
    • Protective measures
    • Technical and managerial responsibility
    • Employee qualifications in the field of electrical engineering
    • Use of HV systems in vehicles: Introduction, concepts, measurements, component replacement, etc.
    • Examination – Best practices

Duration: 4 Days Live Virtual Training
Relevant for: Persons without an electrical engineering education, but with a qualification as vehicle electrician, mechatronician or mechanic, whose area of work is going to include HV systems in powered vehicles
Funding: Funding support available under e2i programme*
(Terms & conditions apply. Enquire to find out more.)

  • Level 3: Live Working for Qualified Electricans for HV Systems in Motor Vehicles

You have completed the training for qualified electricians for HV systems in vehicles and will now log vehicle measurement data during motor operation in the scope of the research and development process. Because live working is only permitted in exceptional circumstances, we will train you for this specific function.

Topics to be covered in this course include:

    • Accident statistics
    • Terms in live working
    • Problems in vehicle technology
    • Standards and regulations for live working
    • Operational organisation
    • Personal protective equipment and tools
    • Behavior following an accident
    • Preparation for practical training
    • Practical training
    • Theoretical examination

Duration: 1 Day Live Virtual Training
Relevant for: Automobile electricians, Mechatronics engineers, Mechanics who have completed training as qualified electricians for HV systems in motor vehicles or who have completed vocational training as electrician, master electrician, electrical engineer in low-voltage technology.

WHO SHOULD TAKE THIS COURSE?

This course is specially designed for:

  • Automobile electricians or
  • Mechatronics engineers or
  • Mechanics who have completed training as qualified electricians for HV systems in motor vehicles or who have completed vocational training as electrician, master electrician, electrical engineer in low-voltage technology.

EXAMINATION & CERTIFICATION

At the end of each course, participant will have to take an examination and will receive a certificate of completion upon passing the examination.
