In December 2020 TÜV SÜD issued its first ETSI EN 303 645 AoC to Midea, a global top supplier in smart home devices, for its Dishwasher MFD60S970X series. The issuance of this conformity statement indicates that Midea’s dishwasher products meets the requirements of the ETSI EN 303 645 standard in terms of network security and privacy protection, reaches the information security baseline level stipulated by the standard, while helping to enhance consumers’ safety awareness and confidence in the information security of IoT products.
The new ETSI EN 303 645 standard covers the security requirements of equipment, communications, and personal data protection and is suitable for a wide range of consumer products including IoT gateways, monitors, door locks, televisions and speakers, and household smart appliances. In accordance with the 14 mandatory provisions of ETSI EN 303 645 that consist of 13 provisions on cyber security and 1 on data protection, TÜV SÜD conducted comprehensive assessments from product design to application on Midea’s dishwashers and finally confirmed them passing all the 33 pcs mandatory requirements and obtaining the EN 303 645 AoC - the first dishwasher-type products certificate issued by TÜV SÜD.
