TÜV SÜD presents secure and safe transition to smart manufacturing

TÜV SÜD will present the new Risk and Safety Management Software Solution mCom ONE and the Smart Industry Readiness Index at the SEMICON West exhibition and conference in San Francisco, showcasing the successful way to make a safe and secure transition to smart manufacturing. The trade show will take place from July 9 to 11, 2019 at the Moscone Center with TÜV SÜD exhibiting their services at booth #1530 and in the Smart Manufacturing Pavilion.

The SEMICON West trade show for the global microelectronics industry is held annually in San Francisco, USA. At the event, exhibitors unveil the latest products and technologies in design and manufacturing, covering the entire microelectronics supply chain from electronic design automation and device manufacturing to finishing, including assembly, packaging, and testing. SEMICON West also defines itself as an information and communication platform for the semiconductor and microelectronics industries, addressing current and critical industry topics.

TÜV SÜD is represented annually at SEMICON West with its own booth and the global SEMI experts to present services in the field of SEMI and machine safety. In 2019, TÜV SÜD will present two new topics for the safe transition to intelligent manufacturing in the "Smart Manufacturing Pavilion": mCom ONE, the new Risk & Safety Management Software Solution, and the Smart Industry Readiness Index.

TÜV SÜD is launching its cloud-based software solution mCom ONE as a digital machinery compliance management tool. The tool will enable suppliers, integrators, and factory managers to ensure seamless integration of asset compliance (of machines and infrastructure) into digital twin-based end-to-end business processes in the future. mCom ONE supports safety and security compliance of adaptive configurations. It thereby paves the way for effective hazard and risk management in the world of IIoT, spanning improvement of business continuity and safety and security levels, plus reduction of operating costs.

TÜV SÜD’s Smart Industry Readiness Index provides companies in the manufacturing industry with an analysis tool for successfully managing the complex challenges involved in industry 4.0 and digital transformation. The tool was developed jointly by TÜV SÜD and the Singapore Economic Development Board. It is based on RAMI 4.0 (Reference Architecture Model for Industry 4.0) and has been tested and validated by renowned global experts from the worlds of business, industry, and research. The tool produces targeted analyses of processes, systems, and structures and breaks them down into understandable and implementable building blocks to visualize the benefits involved for all parties in the company and establish a consistent understanding of Industry 4.0.

At SEMICON West Dr Detlev Richter, Global Head of Industrial and Energy Products at TÜV SÜD, will speak on the technological demands on the lifecycle of adaptive products and systems. His talk, entitled “Risk management in the Age of IIoT / Digital Manufacturing”, will be held during the “Secure Data Transfer and 5G Applications” session on July 10 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
