Engineering Services For Rail Systems

Engineering services for rail systems

SIGNON will be in attendance at InnoTrans 2018, sharing a stand with TÜV SÜD and presenting itself as an expert partner for rail infrastructure projects. The company will highlight the topics of building information modelling (BIM), European Train Control System (ETCS) and virtual reality. The world’s largest transport technology exhibition, InnoTrans will be held in Berlin from 18 to 21 September 2018. (CityCube, Hall A, Stand 412).

“SIGNON Deutschland GmbH has many years of international experience in planning and consulting for trackside engineering and in the fields of safety, systems and software engineering”, explains Holger Rosenberger, Managing Director of SIGNON Deutschland GmbH. Over 200 specialists operate in interdisciplinary teams at various locations throughout Germany for the company.

Innovations in the rail world: ETCS, BIM, virtual reality

At InnoTrans 2018, SIGNON will debut a model system with displays using European Train Control System (ETCS) technology. “Our experts have been involved in ETCS for many years, engaged in the planning, engineering and consulting associated with the introduction and operation of this cutting-edge system”, says Holger Rosenberger. The system landscape presented at the trade show will show fully automatic shunting operations by multiple locomotives. Monitors will allow trade show visitors to follow displays from the driver’s cabs, both of the shunting vehicles and of vehicles on virtual travel paths.

One of the most challenging topics in the industry today is the integration of building information modelling (BIM) methods into rail operations. SIGNON, too, is engaged in research into the opportunities offered by model-based mapping of infrastructure project life cycles. The company’s results will be presented at InnoTrans 2018.

Digitisation is a crucial topic in many areas of industry, and rail is no exception. “SIGNON will show how collection of infrastructure data can be linked with new developments in virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) to create highly efficient automated software solutions”, explains Rosenberger. The company will also present live demonstrations of SIGNON software products such as SIGNON OLAcad and SIGNON Suite.
