ABOUT THE E-LEARNING COURSE

Developed in collaboration with ZDHC, TÜV SÜD's course is designed with contributions by experienced water program managers, plant managers and training providers.

With effect from 1st of Jan 2024, every wet processing industry equipped with effluent treatment should have a qualified operator. It is expected for wastewater treatment operators to be qualified as per the ZDHC guidelines through a ZDHC-administered exam. To be considered for qualifications, operators need to demonstrate that they had training specific to wastewater treatment system operations.

By completing this course, operators would be better equipped with proper knowledge and skills to operate a treatment system and better awareness of what should and should not be done.

- Post completing the registration, participants will get login credentials to access and complete the e-learning course
- After completing the course (12 modules) on TÜV SÜD's web interface, participants will be directed to the ZDHC website to enroll for the qualification exam. Participants will get a one-month time frame for attending the exam.
- Participants must attain 80% marks in the assessment to complete the course curriculum and receive the course completion and qualification certificates from TÜV SÜD and ZDHC, respectively.
Note: Participants are bound to receive two certificates - an e-certificate of attendance from TÜV SÜD on course completion and the level 1 qualification certificate from ZDHC on meeting the passing criteria.

Wastewater treatment operators who operate one or more wastewater treatment systems to treat industrial, domestic, or a blend of industrial and domestic wastewater
People seeking to build a career as a water and wastewater treatment plant operator
Operators who expect to demonstrate their level of qualification through ZDHC examinations
Facilities that want to continue with their existing ZDHC approval or new facilities seeking ZDHC approval

Prerequisite: Basic work experience in the operation of effluent treatment and wastewater treatment plants. Participants with some basic knowledge of physics, chemistry and numeracy would be an added advantage.
