Supporting the use of safer chemicals & better outputs
The ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List or MRSL covers an elaborate list of chemical substances, which are prohibited from commercial usage in products, including textiles, leather and footwear. The usage of chemical formulations which meet regulatory requirements of ZDHC MRSL assure suppliers & customers that banned substances may only be used inadvertently during the production and manufacturing process. These chemical formulations typically include:
The above chemical formulations are essentially used during raw material production, wet processing, process machinery maintenance and wastewater treatment.
From 1st November 2023, only products according to the new ZDHC MRSL V3.1 and the related ZDHC Conformance Guidance V2.0 (Updated to V2.1, dated April 2024) can be uploaded.
The following changes took place on the ZDHC Gateway from 1st November 2023 onwards:
There are three levels of ZDHC MRSL Conformance. ZDHC MRSL Conformance Levels 1-3 provide suppliers & customers with an assurance that this requirement would be met consistently as they go from Level 1 to 3. More details are available at higher levels of ZDHC MRSL Conformance, which demonstrates a continuous production of chemical formulations.
Requirements for ZDHC MRSL Conformance levels:
