The VDA 6.3 Process Auditor training session with certified examination focuses on the practical application of the process audit as a tool for analysing weaknesses in combination with risk assessments and as a basis for improvement measures. The theoretical part focuses on the subjects of audit preparation and audit planning as well as evaluation. The application of the VDA 6.3 Analysis Tool will also be discussed. In the practical part, the audit preparation, audit planning, the execution of process audits with final evaluation, and the presentation of results (final discussion) are trained in role plays and according to given scenarios.

5 Days (4 days training and examination on 5th day)
Personnel from QM, NPD (Product & Process Engineering, R&D, Technology), Supply Chain Management, Production, QA, QC; tasked with conducting process audits in their own organisation (internal) or in the supply chain (externally). Furthermore, this training also addresses external auditors (assigned as service providers).
By attending 4 days process auditor qualification program (ID 381), participants will be able to perform process audits as per VDA 6.3:2023
• Internally within the organisation (with 3 years automotive industry experience)
• At suppliers' end (with 5 years automotive industry experience)
By attending Day 5 Exam (ID 382), i.e. complete 5 days Course (ID 381+ID 382), participants will be able to perform process audits as per VDA 6.3:2023
• Internally within the organisation and
• Externally with passing Day 5 certification exam & assigned certificate number from VDA QMC which enables participants to meet customer-specific requirement of having certified VDA 6.3 process auditors with a valid certificate.
Some of the pre-requisites for participation in the VDA 6.3 Process Auditor training are as follows:
• Admission to the qualification after successful review of your application
• Knowledge of applicable management system and any further customer-specific requirements
• Product and process-specific knowledge in the planned field of operation, relevant professional experience according to VDA volume 6.3
• ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949:2016 Auditor qualification based on ISO 19011 of minimum 3 days duration
• Evidence of Automotive Core Tools training with minimum duration of 2 days (since 2019) followed by VDA Automotive Core Tools quiz with pass certificate at first attempt. In case of non-fulfilment of any of these 2 conditions, participant will have to attend and pass VDA ID 417-VDA Automotive Core Tools for system and Process Auditors training duration of 2 days
• 5-year professional full-time job experience in the automotive industry of which at least 2 years in the quality management
Knowledge Test at the end of Day 4, after completion of 4 days Training (ID-381)
• 30 minutes: Knowledge Test based on objective type questions
• Knowledge Test comprises of 20 questions, with 1 possible correct answer per question
• Passing Criteria is minimum 12 correct answers (60%)
• Passing this knowledge test is pre-requisite for appearing to day 5 exam (ID-382)
Day 5 Exam (ID-382)
• In total, the exam has a duration of approx. 60 minutes, of which:
• 30 minutes: Preparation for the audit simulation
• 15 minutes: Carrying out the audit simulation
• 5 minutes: Formulate and evaluate deviations
• 5 minutes: Discussion examiner & examinee (deviation & turtle if possible)
• 5 Minutes: Reconciliation of examiners & feedback to participants
After successful completion of Day 5 Exam, participant will be issued VDA 6.3 Process Auditor e-Certificate with mentioned validity period of 5 years and auditor registration number from VDA QMC Germany.
