Course Overview

This training programme equips participants with a detailed understanding of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 requirements and focuses on developing competence in internal auditing within the automotive quality management system (QMS). It emphasises the intent behind IATF 16949 requirements and the use of Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA) essential for quality improvement and compliance. The course aligns with ISO 19011:2018 auditing management system guidelines, preparing attendees to conduct effective, systematic internal audits.

• Scope and principles of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
• Quality management system fundamentals including risk-based thinking
• Process-based system and interactions, process mapping and analysis exercises
• Automotive process approach requirements within QMS
• Detailed intent of IATF 16949 clauses
• Roles and responsibilities of internal auditors
• Audit planning, conducting, reporting, and nonconformity management
• Differentiation of nonconformities and improvement opportunities
• Case studies and auditing skill exercises
• Written examination covering theory and practical audit tasks

Who Should Attend? 

This course is designed for management representatives, engineers, quality managers, and executives involved in implementing, maintaining, or auditing quality management systems aligned to IATF 16949:2016. Participants typically have 2-3 years in manufacturing or quality management environments. 

Examination & Certification 

Participants will complete a pen-and-paper written examination lasting 120 minutes including objective questions, process mapping, and nonconformity case writing. A minimum score of 60% is required to pass. Successful candidates receive a certificate of successful completion for IATF 16949:2016 Internal Auditor training including ISO 9001:2015. Those unsuccessful will receive a certificate of attendance.
