Course Overview

This course qualifies participants as CQI 15 Welding System Assessment (WSA) Auditors in accordance with AIAG CQI 15 Version 2. It provides comprehensive training on how to conduct welding system assessments using the process approach. The course covers the prerequisites, competence criteria, and audit execution, enabling participants to fulfil customer-specific requirements mandated by IATF 16949:2016 and OEMs.

• Understand the scope, goals, and auditor criteria of CQI 15 WSA
• Learn to perform welding system assessments integrating process approach tools such as the Process Turtle
• Develop skills for audit planning, execution, and documentation of welding process audits
• Grasp how to summarise audit results and close audits professionally
• Understand how CQI 15 WSA integrates with existing IATF 16949 quality management systems and manufacturing process audits

Course Outline 

• Session 1: 
  • Overview of CQI 15 Welding System Assessment, goals, and auditor criteria
  • Practical exercise: Preparation of Process Turtle for a given scenario/case study
• Session 2:
  • Exercise on audit plan preparation
  • Hands-on audit exercises covering Sections 1-5 of Welding System Assessment
  • Briefing on assignment submission and online exam format
  • Question and answer session

Who Should Attend? 

This course is ideal for manufacturing and production engineers working in welding processes, welding shop supervisors, process validation and QA engineers, new product/process development engineers involved in welding, internal and external process auditors, and quality engineers/management personnel requiring CQI 15 WSA Auditor qualification. Metallurgical degree is not mandatory; responsible personnel related to welding processes should attend. 

Examination & Certification 

Qualification is awarded upon successful completion of the instructor-led training followed by a multiple-choice online examination. Participants who meet or exceed the passing criteria will receive the CQI 15 Welding System Assessment Auditor certificate.
