This is a 2-day instructor-led course covering the concept and understanding of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), and the ESG risk management applications across different sectors. Participants will understand what ESG is and its relevance to our lives, the role of government in promoting ESG Initiatives, and the role of financial institutions and enterprises in implementing ESG. In this ESG Risk Management training, participants will learn how to integrate ESG as a ERM Tool, and the application of ESG risk management process (corresponding to ISO14064-1:2018 Standard).

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  • Appreciate what ESG covers and understand its relevance to our daily lives
  • Understand how Climate Change have led to increasing environmental threats and biodiversity risk
  • Appreciate social risk including diversity and inclusion and how it affects the way we treat employees in the workplace
  • Understand the issues of ethics and fiduciary duties of board and senior management in providing good governance to address ESG challenges
  • Discuss the role of governments and enterprises in address ESG especially in the post-covid environment
  • Discuss how companies can integrate ESG in Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Apply suitable qualitative and quantitative tools to address ESG issues
  • Discuss ESG applications in identification, quantification, mitigation, reporting and disclosure with reference to ISO14064-1:2018 Standard
  • Illustrate ESG applications with a number of practical case studies

Day 2 Afternoon

  • Divide the class into groups to discuss:
    • Current ESG practices in their companies
    • Predict the 3 ESG changes that will take place for the next 1-2 years


Participants will learn through lectures, case studies, group exercises, hands-on exercises and discussions. The course will be conducted in face-to-face or virtual format with a duration of 2 days.

Pre-requisite: No prerequisite, but with prior knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management will be beneficial
