Chemical safety regulations of textile and footwear products are increasing more complexity. European REACH regulation has had a huge impact on the entire supply chain and value chain of the global apparel and footwear industry during the past 13 years. Continue to extend this chain of impact, the EU Regulation No. (EU) 2018/1513 amending REACH Annex XVII restricted substances list and restrict certain carcinogenic, mutagenic or toxic for reproduction (CMR) substances in clothing, accessories and footwear products will take effect from November 1st, 2020. In that context, adidas has just updated policy on limiting hazardous chemicals A-01 - version 18 from August 2020.
In this presentation, you will learn what’s new in adidas A-01 version 18 in term of new substances, pre-treatment, test method update, TLV changed, and change in the requirement of 3rd party lab certification report. The changes impact to specific test parameters and key codes.
By amendment of REACH Annex XVII, Regulation (EU) 2018/1513 has determined scope of application, new definitions, and CMR substances should be prohibited on textiles and footwear products. Through risk assessment model and Chemical Data Management System (CDMS), TÜV SÜD expert will share the significant elements related to chemical in products and the best practice for chemical management to support Manufacturers to adapt new stringent requirements.
