1 day in-person training.

ABOUT THE COURSE

The training on risk-based inspection will provide an overview on RBI principles and what can be achieved by implementing RBI. This course will cover API 580 / EN 16991 framework requirements and some semi-quantitative details on how to apply RBI methodologies, e.g. based on API 581 tools.

Language: English

Who should attend

The course is designed for inspection and maintenance engineers, corrosion and material engineers, inspectors, NDE personnel, planners and contractors. The focus of the course is on process industry applications, such as oil & gas plants, refineries, petrochemical and chemical plants.

Key benefits and takeaways

Participants will get an overview on existing practices for RBI including technical details and practical issues. In addition, pitfalls will be discussed when implementing RBI within the organization. Case studies will demonstrate practical applications.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN FROM THE COURSE

The following key topics will be covered:

  • RBI within Asset Integrity and Process Safety Management programs
  • Risk assessment concepts
  • Overview and introduction to the key elements of an RBI program
  • The planning process
  • Degradation mechanisms and failure modes
  • Determination of Likelihood/Probability of Failure and Consequence of Failure
  • Risk-based inspection planning and risk management
  • Reassessment and evergreening
