The ‘new normal’ of COVID-19 pandemic requires organisations to ensure safety and hygiene practices being critically followed for a seamless operation. To support team members involved in implementing your organisation’s COVID-19 Hygiene & Safety Plans, TÜV SÜD is pleased to announce COVID-19 Safety Guardian Assessment & Certification. This certificate will boost the confidence of your team member/s in implementing the COVID-19 prevention plans and further enhance their know-how.
 

WHO SHOULD take the assessment?

Employees from departments such as Human Resources and Administration including Security Personnel, HSE Professionals and all those who are involved in planning and implementing the COVID Hygiene & Safety Plans. 

HOW MANY COVID SAFETY GUARDIANS FOR YOUR ORGANISATION?

We recommend 1 COVID Safety Guardian for an employee strength up to 50. However, the count may be decided bases the sector/industry your organisation is associated with.
 

EXAM PREREQUISITES

Basic working knowledge about COVID-19, its sources, symptoms, recommended preventive actions, emergency response & notification and Government regulations. To facilitate your preparation for the examination, post the registration, online reference materials would be provided to help you prepare for the exam and enhance your knowledge. 

EXAM DETAILS

Platform: Online Examination (Microsoft Teams)

Duration: 45 Minutes    

Questions format: 30 Multiple Choice Questions

Passing Criteria: Minimum 80% marks in the assessment 

CERTIFICATION

On successful completion of the exam, candidates will be issued a “COVID-19 SAFETY GUARDIAN” Certificate. Candidates who are unable to clear the assessment in the first attempt can reappear for the exam to obtain the certificate. In such a case, a discount of 50% is applicable.

DECLARATION OF RESULTS

Results will appear on screen immediately after completion of the exam.

    Duties of a COVID Safety Guardian

    • Survelliance, Measurements, Training, Escalation, Notification, Reporting, Monitoring and Follow Up

    Skills of a Certified COVID Safety Guardian

    • Competent inspection and knowledge of:
      • PPE to be issued and methods of usage
      • Comprehensive Disinfection Practices & Chemicals
      • Social Distancing Adherence during all times
    • Identification of persons developing symptoms / not reporting symptoms
    • Vigilant watch on stock levels of PPE, Disinfection chemcials & other COVID prevention consumables
    • Notification and escalation
    • Coordination with HSE, Medical and Security teams
    • Record keeping and evidence management
  • Code of Ethics

    Candidates shall accept to follow the code of ethics of TÜV SÜD PSB by signing the document.

    • TÜV SÜD PSB requires its certificate holders to conduct themselves professionally, with honesty, impartiality, accurateness, responsibility and independence.
    • TÜV SÜD PSB’s certificate holders should use their knowledge and skills for the enhancement of human welfare.
    • TÜV SÜD PSB’s certificate holder’s performance of their professional duties should include safety, health and welfare of public.
    • TÜV SÜD PSB’s certificate holder should perform their service only in their areas of competence and should avoid conflict of interest.
    • TÜV SÜD PSB’s certificate holder should not plagiarise and shall respect the intellectual property of others and do not use them without permission.
    • TÜV SÜD PSB’s certificate holder undertake only those assignments for which they are competent by virtue of certification, training, and experience and, where warranted, seek the assistance of specialists as required to complete of assignments.
    • TÜV SÜD PSB’s certificate holder indicate to the employer or supervisor any decisions that have been overruled by any authority that could result in adverse consequences.
    • TÜV SÜD PSB’s certificate holder should not to use the certification in such a manner as to bring the certification body into disrepute, and not to make any statement regarding the certification which the certification body considers misleading or unauthorised.
    • TÜV SÜD PSB’s certificate holder should discontinue the use of all claims to certification that contain any reference to the certification body or certification upon suspension or withdrawal of certification, and to return any certificates issued by the certification body.
