Sanitation Readiness Index

The Sanitation Readiness Index (SRI) is a platform designed to assist the manufacturers and technology owners of non-sewered sanitation systems in assessing their systems’ readiness for ISO 30500 certification. SRI covers the three core pillars of ISO 30500: performance requirements, system processes, and documentation checks.

To gain the most from the platform, manufacturers and technology owners need to prepare and provide data on their technology, including technical drawings and test results on the SRI platform. 

About the Assessment

There are two main phases of assessment: the Self-Assessment and the Dimension Assessment. You will begin with the self-assessment and receive automatic results. Once your technology has passed the SRI-0 criteria, you may move on to the Dimension Assessment. This evaluation phase is all-encompassing of ISO 30500, and it will take 3-4 weeks to receive assessment results.

Description of the SRI Levels

Your technology will move through 4 distinct Sanitation Readiness Levels: SRI-0, SRI-1, SRI-2 and SRI-3 until reaching Certification Readiness. The technology must pass certain criteria to reach the next level. 

 
Deliverables

A team of ISO 30500 experts will validate documentation and results to deliver an SRI report. The SRI report comprises of all system gaps and overall proximity scores in each ISO 30500 dimension. Along with testing and inspection services, the SRI report provides clear next steps for technology development and eventual full certification readiness.
