TÜV SÜD's duties on this prestigious refurbishment project were the full Building Services Design for the bedroom block refurbishment, public area refurbishment and replacement of major plant items.

The existing installations were generally in excess of 25 years old and the refurbishment works includes replacement of main lifts, air handling plant, boilers.

In addition energy efficiency improvements were targeted by provision of new CHP units and heat pump installations, combination of which will have a dramatic effect on the buildings carbon footprint.

The works were planned to involve absolute minimum shutdown of the hotel with the hotel remaining in operation during the refurbishment works.

The contractor team and hotel management coming together to identify and resolve the issues arising with regards to continuity of servicing including the operation of all H&S systems.
