TÜV SÜD were appointed as MEP designers for the new primary school and nursery for East Renfrewshire Council. The school and nursery, which formed the first phase of a new housing development comprising of some 834 homes, is located in Newton Mearns just off Ayr Road and can accommodate up to 400 primary and 120 nursery places and features joint community facilities including a multi-use games hall and 3G pitch. 

The school embraces the councils need to ensure that all new development meet their targets set out within their local development plans and specific project energy targets. The school incorporates the use of roof mounted photovoltaic panels which allowed the school to achieve Bronze Active with Partial Silver & Gold under Section 7.1 of the Building Regulations. 

TÜV SÜD delivered all aspects of the MEP design including the sustainability strategy. Following Contractor appointment TÜV SÜD were novated to the Contractor whilst retaining a Quality and Compliance role on the client side.
