TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory, the flow measurement R&D specialist, today launches its £16million Advanced Multiphase Facility (AMF), which will help global oil and gas operators to ensure that production remains economically viable.
Nordex has commissioned TÜV SÜD to carry out type certification of their latest wind turbine generators (WTG) N149/5.X and N163/5.X. The turbines are designed for land-constrained markets in Europe as well as other global markets, such as the USA and Australia. Type certification of wind turbines is a procedure recognised at international level for establishing that these complex technical systems comply with international standards.
With its plan to establish real-world laboratories and with launching the HyLand competition, the German government has taken important steps for driving the use of hydrogen in industry and transport. Offshore wind-turbine generators (WTG) can be realised even in deepwater areas using floating foundations. TÜV SÜD certified the innovative support structure, developed by an industrial consortium headed by ESTEYCO. The certificate was handed over at WindEurope 2019 in Bilbao.

TÜV SÜD has been commissioned by E.ON Climate &amp; Renewables to provide periodic inspection services at E.ON’s two offshore wind farms, Amrumbank West and Arkona. The two parks have 140 turbines with a combined capacity of 687 MW. Inspections will be conducted in accordance with the specifications of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency of Germany (BSH).
